BtHomeHub -3512 can't find IP address

My Scroll is unable to connect with my BtHomeHub-3512. Tries to obtain IP address but is unsuccessful. Will locate BT Openzone, BTFON, The Ship Hotel (pub next door) but BtHomeHub-3512 shows a padlock. Router is set to Wireless Security WEP-64.
I have 2 desktops connected via ethenet and 2 laptops via WiFi. All working OK. :(
Can anyone please help?

Press the "Wireless Association" button on the side of the hub then try to connect

Thanks Detection but my hub is one of the early ones - no "Wireless Association" button on the side or anywhere else. Where do I go from here?

Try..
On the HomeHub, disable Wireless security and see if the Scroll connects. Its should work fine... then start moving up the security ladder and WEP, WPA and finally WPA2 (Dont use the Enterprise, use only WPA Personal). After changing the Security, reboot (power cycle) the homehub router.

The 'Unable to obtain IP' is usually associated with the security keys being wrong on the Scroll. Check case (BT use hex keys, but they must be lower case as some devices use them as a word)

I had a similar problem with a Homehub (thomson) and rebooting it fixed most of the connection problems... it seems to go bad when many failed wireless connects happen (in my case.)

Ah.. I have heard about the scroll not liking WEP - yes as above, change the routers encryption method to WPA / WPA2

You will need to reconnected everything else again, but should work for the scroll

Sorry I've been so long in sorting things out but the problem was that the wireless key had been inserted wrongly.
This morning I re-inserted it using a stylus instead of my finger and lo-and-behold I have an internet connection. My thanks to Detection and RichardP for puting me on the right track
