I cannot even see the Kindle in the marketplace from my scroll, I had to use a third party download link

Have you applied the phone.apk modifications as discussed elsewhere on this forum? This modification gives you access to paid for apps in the marketplace

Ah, the dreaded room 101 firmware...

Slightly off topic, would flashing a recovery set from a 1.0 scroll mean a 1.01 becomes 1.0 (I assume that the firmware number just references the software packging installed)

pwilko123 - yes that is basically what it would do.

Charlie - I have tried many versions off the maret and google apps lol. I can set up my account cync calandar/contacts/gmail to an extent (it will crash gapps once it does it) but teh market keeps getting a server time out regardless of what market.apk I use

Paid for books work fine on Kindle on the scroll. I am reading more books now than ever before!

is there any reason I am missing for using Kindle over Laputa, is it better at displaying text , or is it just that it has access to the latest books , i find that a quick search in google for "book title here" filetype.pdf does the trick , put it through the freely available Calibre software and boom there is your book works great with comics as well .

Goto to agree I do like using Laputa Pro but there is something great about browsing the kindle store and then buying a book and it being delivered straight to the scroll. And the books aren't to badly priced. I have put by Sony PRS 505 e reader to bed now and read only on the Scroll.

For info the Calibre e-book management program (http://calibre-ebook.com/) supports Android phones.

I use this on my Sony PRS-350 and my sister's Kindle and its very good.
As well as managing your books and uploading them to your device you can also use it to convert between formats.

If I have time I'll try it on the Scroll tonight.
