New member and need help already ;0(

Hi All,

Have bought myself a new Excel with V4.0 ICS on. My brother has a slightly older version with 2.3 on and it seems his may have been root enabled from new. I can't seem to find any setting that allows me to enable root access - has anyone got any advice or guidamce on how to acces it?

Hello PunterHunter and welcome to the forum.

Unless Storage Options have changed things yet again on the Excel then yours should be rooted too.
Try downloading and installing SuperUser from the Google Playstore.
Then update binaries. Instal ES File Explorer.
SuperSuser will only work if your Excel is rooted.
If it is rooted, when you run ESfile Explorer it should ask for SuperUser permissions.
If it does, answer OK. IF all this works as described then your Excel is already rooted.

Thanks for the advice - after updating the binaries in SuperUser it then worked, as did the ES File Explorer. I now have access to root ;0)

Nice one. Obviously it was already rooted as what you did would not cause root but tell you it is already rooted.
