Hi Folks

I'm Andrew and I'm in Glasgow, Scotland. Like a few people here I've bought a Scroll from ebuyer - seemed a pretty good price. I don't actually have the device yet although it is due to be delivered tomorrow.... lol the day I go back to work  boo.

I'm a gadget nut like most of you, and an ARM fanatic from way back in the bad old days when ARM chips were made by and for Acorn Computers ("who?!!" I hear you shout :D) I won't bore you silly with my list of retro gear... but anyways.

I'm actually looking to trial the scroll as an e-reader, my mum is after one, and we cant/wont justify the extortionPad - market leader or not . I read already that people in here have Kindle for android working on it... any joy with B&N's Nook app ?

Cheers

Andrew

My first computer (in the early '80s) was a Commodore 64.

I completed a GCSE in Computer Literacy on a BBC Micro in 1989.

Computers have moved on a bit since then, haven't they? :D

My dad bought me and my sister a ZX81...... Remember spending hours typing in the programs in "Basic" then playing a game that lasts a few seconds. Meteour was my favourite. Ha, ha.....

10 Print "Meteour"

Run

Meteour

The first computer I worked with was the TRS-80 (Tandy - Radio Shack) model 1:

It had a whopping 2k (!) of memory and no peripherals (except a cassette tape, which never worked). Then came models 2 and 3.

The Apple IIe was a godsend and I spent my last year of highschool programming it for the school. I just missed getting on the IBM 8086/8, but made up for that years later when I returned to computers and picked up an XT in a wireless alarm installation.

Ah, the days :¬)
