New Scroll owner \ user!

Postby MobyUK » February 18th, 2011, 10:54 am

Hi, everybody, firstly thanks for this forum, some usefull info on here! :D

Got my tablet 2 days ago and updated to the latest frimware (v1.02) without any difficulty.
Have managed to get everything working (Marketplace etc) and am enjoying messing around with it.

I have 2 minor issues if any of you can offer any pointers that would be great:

1) Battery monitors seem to fluctuate dramatically and it is very hard to be confident in what level of battery you have. Also if I check the Battery Use, Cell Standy is always the main user (55% plus) although obviously this is not a phone. I have found refrence on here to ways of disableing the elements that use this power but have not managed to find the instructions, any pointers would be usefull?

2) I find that the pressure I have to put on the screen to drag and scroll feells excessive - is that normal?

Any help appreciated!

Thanks.

Welcome mate, the 2 points you have raised sound the same as mine, i think it depends what touch screen you are used to TBH.
I have an ip4 and its a completly differant touch screen so.
Have fun with the scroll....

MobyUK: Welcome to the madhouse... in answer to your questions:

1) The battery bar seems to act more as a "drain meter" rather than a "whats left meter". In other words, it will show you that you have little power left when wifi etc is enabled, but if you disable it, youll get a green bar back. Its not very accurate.

2) The scroll has a "resistive screen" rather than a "capacitive screen" (which the IP4 has). They do take more pressure to select an option etc. Nothing to worry about, just dont jab it too hard with a stylus!

You'll also find that if you change the existing "screen protector" for a better one the screen will be a lot more sensitive.
