Hello all,

I picked up the 7" Scroll with Android 2.3 yesterday :)

i was aware of the mixed reviews, but almost every one said that it had a good screen for its class.

I'm very happy with it so far! Youtube vids are smooth as you like, and ive just seen how to get BBC iPlayer

ironically im not posting from the tablet

Was about to post this link to a similar tablet running 2.3, but if the scroll now has 2.3. can't it be flashed to the 2.1 tablets ?

Hi.

I hope so.

I've read about every post on the site, looking for a clear and safe route to update the OS of my resistive 7" scroll (maplin :)) to 2.2+ (it's 1.02s firmware android 2.1 at the mo)

Can I suggest a really clear thread for 1.02s resistive 7" firmware update ? ;o)

I wouldn't want to lose screen rotation on the way, or stuff like that...

Thats the problem. There is no official way to update the scroll to 2.2

The one that is available (made by Fun) has still got problems. Once (if) a totally bug-free version appears im sure we will create a thread on it.

8-)

Thanks to all for the rest of the hints on this forum. I'd guess the little beastie is about twice as smooth now as when I flipped it out the box. Good stuff.

Would moving the cache to SD be a good idea ?

If the sd has faster access times than the internal flash , yes :D
