Hi I have bought my scroll to stream movies and am totally new to android/tablets etc. If I have read correctly I have to tweak it to work. Which means doing as the post instructs to allow me to use the market place? and from market place I can download a program to stream movies.

What exactly do you mean by 'stream movies'? What service are you planning to stream them from?
Are you thinking of something like this?
http://www.androidtapp.com/movie-stream/Do the market fix. It is tricky but worth it.

I thought I would be able to download firefox and log into for example sidereel and watch tv shows like I do on the computer. When I looked at doing the fix it asks which version I want to down load windows mac linux etc but this device dosen't support these. I will try your link to see how that goes.

Android 2.1 doesn't support Flash, so if the site is Flash based you're out of luck. The market fix involves setting up the Android development kit on your PC before you can change the ID of your Scroll.

That's not going to happen on the Scroll - As far as I know, the Firefox browser for android, does not work on the scroll, as it has an Arm 11 v6, and you can not get flash 10.1+ on the scroll for the same reason.

There is no way to get flash on Android 2.1. Your only hope is that there will be a 2.2 upgrade at some point (not very likely). The market fix just gives you a working market.

the Scroll is fantastic for watching movies, and i use mVideo player from the market, and i even use it to watch films on my GFs HDTV.
however, you need to use an SD card to load the movies onto it. You cannot stream movies on the Scroll. TV catchup doesn't even work on it.

Bugger!! know anyone who wants to buy a scroll? thanks for all your help . Good lesson for getting all the info before buying. I hadn't realised that some tablets didn't support flash.

what were you going to stream it with anyway? the scroll only supports wifi, so unless you get youself a very expensive unlimited data plan on a mifi you wont get any streaming on the move, and then, why would you use wifi to stream movies indoors, when you have a TV/computer for that?
