Introductions

Hi
I may be knockin' on a bit ( mid 60's) compared to some of you guys but I'm determined to stay as up to date as poss. with all the new stuff coming along. Please exercise patience when dealing with me!

compaq presario desktop(vista)
HP pavilion laptop( Win.7)
Sansung Monte phone
iphone 3
Garmin GPSmap 62s ( full 1.50 OS GB)
Garmin eTrex H
AND NOW Scroll 8 in (Scroll 2 ,Firmware & Baseband v1.02, Kernel 2.6.29 , Build 2.1) -Really impressed for price and just getting to grips with Android ( have sorted most but struggling with import /export to Garmin but am determined I'll sort it myself........!!??) You may be hearing from me!!

Hello, another new scroll owner - a little younger though, but just as passionate about gadgets!

I've rooted it, dumped the phone apps, installed some custom skins and CPU manage/battery manager/memory manager. For the money (£139.99), it's a mega bargain.

I assume that by "Android" you mean the Scroll, but I'm not sure which Garmin you mean. I've managed to get an eTrex hooked up to my Scroll via a USB to serial adaptor. A bit of rooting and booting is required, but it works quite happily with offline mapping software like Copilot, AlpineQuest etc.
