Just bought a new Scroll

Hi. I've just bought a new Scroll 2, 8" tablet. Having one or two tiny problems with it so I'll look around the forum for a bit. I have to say, though, I love it already and will be very upset if I have to return it because of the problems.

Hi Mitre,
I don't mind a few tweeks; kind of makes it my own if you know what I mean. I've had a look round the forum and the wi-fi/internet problem which I have has been discussed by some pretty clever people. I understand some of the jargon but not well enough to follow and adjust my own Scroll. Plus, although it is only £150 I still kind of expect it to work "out of the box" - and it does - and it's brilliant - and I love it. But surfing the web is what I bought it for. I don't want to have to disconnect the wi-fi every five minutes as someone suggested or switch off and switch on again. Last night I surfed the net successfully for two hours or so, then... I'll have another trawl round the forum to see if there is a firmware fix.

I've checked my router and it is operating channel 11 so there may be a solution there. I really love this little device and hope to "tweek" it to do the things I need. I have bought a MicroSD card which should come in a day or so (8Gb - Class 4) which should be more than I need. Let's hope all goes well. Thanks for your help.

Aye - same thing here - channel 7 was hit and miss - changed to channel 11 and no issues with scroll on wifi - I may have to change the channel again in the future if others in the area change theirs to the same channel or near it.

Just to close this thread down I eventually returned the Scroll to Ebuyer on their recommendation and they sent me a replacement which, to date, has no problem with the internet. So it is/was a hardware problem with that particular Scroll. The new one is fine except it can not hold the time/date when hibernating or off. I've looked elsewhere in the Forum and the only useful reference I have found to this suggested sending it back to Ebuyer. There were a few tweeks but none of the necessary prompts appeared so I guess they were doing something I'm not familiar with. Still love this Scroll though. If I can live with the time/date problem then it's a keeper.
