Hi Folks,
Just thought I'd say hello now that my Scroll has finally turned up.
It is slightly different from the one Maplins were advertising at the time I ordered it, in that it only has one USB port.
It also has Firmware 1.02s so I will not be attempting to root it just yet... :-)

Overall, I'm quite pleased with it despite it being totally crippled re the Android Market, probably because it isn't a phone.

A terminal emulator would be nice as would a file handler.

The video player is lousy so I would like to try mVideoPlayer but the 'market' won't let me download it (or anything else). :-(

Great site.

Apart from the complete lack of options, I have found that the default video playing is the best for playback quality. I have a little app (from the market!) that works as a front end and actually shows the thumbnails and filenames.

Not too bothered about the lack of filenames, it just won't play all of my .flv videos. :-/
The videos play with mplayer and/or VLC everywhere else... but I know that some of 'em are a little fragile and both mplayer and VLC can compensate for this. I have taken to testing my videos with gxine (Puppy Linux) and I have found that if they play with that then they will play on the Scroll. This is only with .flv files, no problem with mpeg.

Hey, I'm not bitching, for the price, the Scroll is excellent! The latest stuff from Elonex is looking good though...
