So... No market potentially, depending on the firmware of the devices Maplin have in stock... So, is there any way to get the paid apps I have on my Desire onto the scroll? Will the apk files be on the Desire somewhere to copy over? Or am I stuck in this instance?

You could copy the paid apps from your desire to the scroll via the pc...

And the beauty of maplins they'll let you play with it beforehand so you can see what version of firmware is on the device and whether the market is on there :)

Awesome, thanks Jimmy. That's one of the key reasons for going there... I'll pay about a tenner more than the tesco best price, but I can see it in the flesh to make sure I like it :)

And it will be fantasic if I can copy the apk files from the Desire, if that really is the case I don't care a jot about the market on the Scroll, as I'll be able to copy them over from my phone, sweeeeeeeet! :D

Aye I've copied mine from the nexus (which is now more of a phone and less of a plaything)

So, Jimmy, you sound like an expert :) Do you know where abouts on my Desire I might find these apks? Is there some kind of standard androind location?

Edit: A quick google found this: http://www.androidz.co.cc/2009/09/how-t ... droid.html That the kind of thing I need to do?

Yeah, I found this for pushing apk's to the desire:

http://android.stackexchange.com/questions/3852/copy-apk-file-to-system-app-getting-not-enough-space

So I imagine the files are potentially in system/app, you just need to mount it and copy them out to the sd

And expert made me lol, expert no, geek yes ;)

My Scroll is running 1.01 straight out of the box and Market runs normally.

Well, I've only gone and done it. A scroll is sat next to me charging now... :D

Was really good to have a play with one in Maplins to get a feel for it's size and the screen response. It's firmware 1.01, so I'll have to see how I stand market-wise later on after work.

Thanks for all the advice people!
