i have no problem installing the APK apps when i get them from 3 party sites its just if the market worked on the scroll it would be easier huh. i wonder if we could have a section in the forum for collecting the apps from links etc? from places like rapidshare.
Best regards brian.

well i cant see a problem putting apk files for apps as long as we use a site for uploading and link

i have just noticed in help android market if you are expericing problems and your app starts downloading but doesnt gets stuck which is like mine it says you have to be logged into talk and says logout and log back into talk to help the download problem .

So does anybody know if the web market site is totally independant of a working market app on the scroll? My market is duff. The web site asks you to sign in with a google account before it "installs" the app. This I did and the web site said "Installed" but as mentioned earlier I can't find it on my Scroll.
If it works like the original market it should try and identify the device and then censor (sorry filter) the available apps. Unless I missed something I did not see anything indicating device recognition either. :?

@edtuckerartist: According to the CNET article "Users who have rooted their devices and are running custom ROMs will not see data for Make and Model" It doesn't actually state if this prevents it working. I wonder........ :?

Well after the initial excitement I'm now depressed as it makes sod all difference on my Scroll. As it's not one of the devices linked to my google account there's no way of getting it to download to the device. It happily sent crap to my phone, whoopdee doo. Why are google being suck dicks about market access?

All this talk about how Android is better the Apple's stuff because it's open and free to everyone, only it isn't actually :S Roll on DJ_Steve's 2.2 rom!

If you are running DJ_Steves 2.2 alpha build the scroll shows up you just have to name it. So yes it will work on the scroll if you have a working market.
