If anyone has downloaded the SCROLL7-8k-cyanogen image with the accelerometer fix, could they mirror it on one of the free fileshare sites? I'm currently getting about 1.1kbytes/sec from fun's website. People are obviously soaking up his bandwidth!

Thanks

Eddie

Been running the new rom for a few days and I must admit it's getting pretty close to being perfect now.
From what I can tell it's just the camera and accelerated video that's left to sort out and it'a all good :-)

I think the video acceleration is to do with driver support in the cm7 build but this has been a problem with the lack of support from telechips.
There is a link to the gingerbread sources on slatedroid though which I've yet to investigate.

Edit - here's the links to the latest source files from telechips:-

Kernel 2.6.35 : http://www.mediafire.com/?bgk8qls1zevfdms
Gingerbread Source: http://www.mediafire.com/?729rb0zzad10ii4

Incidentally has anyone else who's running fun's rom found the battery meter rather random? I find I can't get a reliable figure at all - just while typing this I've gone from 60% to 28% and it's now on 31%???

Yep I've been watching that with interest - looks like it may be close to being solved if fun has the time to look into it.

Certainly will be good to be able to watch videos properly as it's a no go as it stands - not a great issue with anything else at all as I'm not too fussed about the camera not working.
Hopefully it will be added soon :-)

Hi
I know I'm being really dumb here, but I'm trying to install cyanogenmod 7 on my 8" Scroll, but falling at the first hurdle.
I rooted the tablet using z4root.1.3.0 with no problems.
I copied dump-recovery-signed.zip onto the root of my SD card and extracted it there.
What should happen next?
I rebooted the tablet a couple of times, but it just boots as normal - no sign of any recovery options.
Is there a real idiot's guide to this anywhere please?
I want to learn, but at the same time I don't want to kill my tablet (my daughter's actually).
Many thanks.

You don't need to extract it - just leave it on the root, rename it to update.zip and go into the stock recovery system (press the down volume button while you see the Storage Options screen after powering up).
You should have an option to install update and it will automatically do the dump from there onto the sdcard for you.

The rest of the instructions are on the second half of this page http://androtab.info/telechips/cyanogenmod/

Hope that helps out

Been running this on my 7" 4K scroll for a while now, and it's given it a new lease of life. The only issues I'm really having are that it likes to continuously reboot itself when connected to the mains charger, and that it deep sleeps to the point of not being able to turn it back on. I have to plug in the charger to get it to come back to life. Very odd.

Anyone else seen these issues and know of a fix?

Not had that problem on my scroll 7 4k - are you using the latest release with the g-sensor enabled?
