I fancied modding mine so the camera points out the back as it's pretty useless for QR scanning when you can't see what you're trying to photograph.

Have you got QR scanning to work? I haven't been able to get it to scan anything, as soon as the QR code comes into focus, the image starts 'jumping' (that's the best way i can describe it)

I too cannot get QR scanning to work on the Scroll either. However, on my iphone it works very quickly, even on your avatar roguelj! Maybe someone else has got it working on the Scroll?

I think the camera is too low quality for QR Scanner

Its only 0.3MP I think

Even on a crappy 0.3mp with a screen full of QR (a test one with only a little infor stored in it) the thing should scan, and no the barcode scanning just flickers for me too... I want the camera out the back for taking quick piccys when I'm out and about as well as trying to get some form of barcode scanning.

Might be worth running adb logcat during a scan, see if that turns up anything. I'll test it in a sec...

anyone had any success with this? as i've had mine barely a day and already dust under my screen, i took the protective screen off to make sure it wasnt under just that...it wasnt & its right in the middle too!!!!

The dust is caused by a process known as CAMP (crap asian manufacturing process) There is little you can do about it, im afraid

Where'd you get it from readey? If it's maplins just take it back and they'll exchange it in store

hi all a little tip here dont eat crisps or anything with salt on while using the scroll(or any touch screen) wash your hands if you have.
