Re: Fact or Fiction the Nexus 7 tablet announces today.

No problem. I got mine from pc world online. Think they had quite a lot for online orders when I placed mine. Probably all gone now though.

Re: Fact or Fiction the Nexus 7 tablet announces today.

OTG cable arrived today.

Using stick mount app was able to mount an 8gb lexar stick with no problems. The app detects the stick has been plugged in an automatically mounts it for you.

EDIT my usb powered 2.5" Samsung 400gb drive seems to work fine too.

Re: Just ordered a new non-SO tablet :)

I have used a similar RK3066 chipset tablet and although its faster than the Extreme, its nowhere near as smooth as the Nexus 7. Could be Jellybean thats making all the difference though, or just better optimised drivers etc maybe.

Re: Fact or Fiction the Nexus 7 tablet announces today.

Have ordered an OTG cable from Amazon. May take a while to arrive on free delivery though.

Been reading more about it and think you need to use an app called stick mount to get it to work.

Re: Anyone know if a dual core Scroll is due?

I am predicting that there will be a Dual Core version announced very soon using the new RK Dual core chipset with Quad core Mali graphics (similar to the spec Piers ordered).

Re: Fact or Fiction the Nexus 7 tablet announces today.

TV Catchup is working great!

Edit - ITV Player is working just grand too! Just wish my net connection was better at work.

Both of these run really smoothly - very impressed. Downloaded ITV player APK and sideloaded - didnt even look on Play store.

Re: Fact or Fiction the Nexus 7 tablet announces today.

Sure, will test those later. Regarding USB - I Haven't tried it as I don't have an OTG lead, but I have read on the Modaco forums (I think it was there) that its possible to use USB storage once rooted. I am using the Modaco custom ROM so hopefully its already setup for storage access. Will try and ...

Re: Fact or Fiction the Nexus 7 tablet announces today.

I caved and got myself one of these. I have to say it absolutely blows the Scroll Extreme out of the water. Ok its smaller at 7", but I find this better for reading books (not quite as good for web browsing). However the speed of the thing is amazing and - the difference is just night and day w...

Re: Jellybean 4.1 officially annouced today

Wonder when they will release the source code so we can start trying it on our devices. The more I use my extreme the more I think its underpowered. Web browsing is quote frustrating really compared to some other more expensive tablets I have used. I hope Jelly Bean helps, if not I may be upgrading ...

AOKP Build by Christian Troy

He has just released a new ROM based on AOKP.

Does anybody know much about AOKP and are there any benefits to using it over CM9?

You can get it here: http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/34824-rom-aokp/
